I'm sorry to report we had a multi-hour long outage today due to a serious problem with my web server:
It literally melted in my closet!
I came home from some shopping and errands only to hear some of the most terrible noises anyone could imagine coming from the server.
I quickly turned the monitor on, rebooted and discovered that the system temperature was 88 degrees Celsius! Ack!
It wasn't more than a few minutes later that it all came to an end. May we never forget the age old system that has served us so well for the past year and a half...RIP.
*observes a moment of silence*
I've since gutted the server, built a new one and restored a backup - and we're back in business!
