Tips
Here are a number of tips that will make life in M'ystifa a little easier.
  • Don't worry about dying before level 5 - there's no penalty. Parties level 5 and over however drop all of the GP they are carrying.
  • Put your GP in the bank. You can access the bank through the tavern in any village. If your party is killed, gold in the bank is not dropped.
  • To save yourself from having to walk all the way back up from the bottom of a dungeon, simply exit the game and reload. Your party will rejoin the adventure at the last village they visited.
  • Be mindful of where you spend your attribute points. It probably isn't critical that a Cleric class character have high strength, when they spend most of the time casting spells.
  • Decide in advance who will specialize in what skill. No one can be a master of everything, so determining who will do what early on will help you be more successful later.
  • Some creatures are very weak to a certain element. Take the name of the creature into account as well as the types of attacks it uses. If all else fails, experiment. Also, creatures in the same line (Goblin Warlord, Goblin Trancer) are usually weak to the same element.
  • Some boss battles take a few tries to be victorious. Each one uses different tactics and some battles may be easier won if you take advantage of weaknesses. For example, a boss that relies on lots of magic to be successful if not very powerful when a Shaman class is present - a quick Mute ailment takes away all of the advantage.
  • If you find an item that seems strange but it's use is not apparent, hang on to it. It may become useful later in the adventure.
  • Be sure to pay attention to the remaining durability of your equipment. If the remaining durability reaches 0, the item is permanently destroyed.
  • Use quick cast keys for your magic casters - they save a lot of clicks.
  • Save Sturdy Iron Keys as long as you can. The items you get from the chest are based on your parties average level (among other minor things). The longer you wait, the better the reward.
  • There are plenty of keys to be found that are possibly not used in the same location. Keep them and carry them with you - you never know what awaits behind a locked door.
  • Save your mana - Ether's, the item that replenishes mana, are expensive.
  • Always search for secret walls in dungeons. Click on the N, W, S and E buttons when you are suspicious.
  • Complete as many quests as possible. The rewards are meant to be substantial and greatly assist the progression of your party.
