Con
In battle, each of up to three creature names will be displayed, representing the current encounter for your party. It's important to note the color in which the name is displayed as it gives you an idea of it's difficulty compared to the abilities of your party.

Purple

The creature is at least three levels higher than your party. You'll probably be destroyed.

Red

The creature is two levels higher than your party. You'll likely be destroyed.

Orange

The creature is one level higher than your party. You should have a chance, but it's risky.

Yellow

The creature is even level with your party. You should be OK, but you might not make it.

Blue

The creature is one level below your party. You shouldn't have a problem.

Green

The creature is two levels below your party. You should wipe the floor.

Grey

The creature is three or more levels below your party. You will wipe the floor.

Con has a direct impact on the amount of XP and GP you earn for killing a creature. Monsters that con at least yellow with the party are optimum for advancing. Higher con is possible and there is no penalty. However, killing lower con creatures causes an XP and GP penalty to be assessed and might not be productive unless you have no choice but to dispatch of them.

Attacks / Abilities
Creatures are not limited to using the spells and abilities that the character classes are. Some creatures have unique abilities that have devastating effects that are not always available to characters.

Treasure
Depending on a number of factors, different creatures have a wide array of items they could drop at the end of battle. With such a dynamic treasure system, almost anything can happen!

The best treasure a creature can drop is around or slightly above it's level, making it worthwhile to try and defeat creatures that are a tad tougher than the party.

Some creatures also carry uncommon and rare unique items that only they can drop. This is usually the case with unique creatures, bosses and masters (that drop hearts for Caller summon spells).

Commonality

Most creatures in Legends of M'ystifa are common and found in good numbers.

There are some, however, that are uncommon and may take some serious time to find. The benefit is usually an increased amount of XP and GP reward, coupled with the chance of them dropping a unique item that only they have.

There are some, however, that are rare and may take some serious time to find. The benefit is a fair increase in XP and GP reward, as well as a chance of them dropping a powerful unique item that only they have.

Rare and uncommon creatures are constrained to spawn only in a certain dungeon or outdoor area.

You can tell if a creature is rare because the battle music changes from the regular battle music.

Bosses

Boss creatures are usually guarding a treasure chest with a better than normal chance of dropping good items. On top of that, they themselves usually drop plenty of items with the chance of a rare item or two for the party to enjoy.

Masters (creatures that drop hearts for Caller summon spells) are considered boss creatures.
