Heyas!
Here is a summary of what changed from the first Beta release (1.0.1) to this version (1.0.2):
-- Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit) are now working 100%. I have completed testing on all three operating systems so there shouldn't be any problems. Let me know if you run into any.
-- Durability Bug...this one has been fixed. It happened when an equipped item should be destroyed for having worn down to 0 durability.
-- Long Sword Weapon Skill Bug...this one has been fixed. It happened when a character with this weapon skill leveled it to 10. Let me know if you see any more problems with the weapon skills.
-- The boat system has been fully tested and tweaks have been made. It is now possible in this release to travel to most of the game world if you have the GP and meet the level requirements.
-- Rebalanced all of the rare and boss creatures throughout the whole game. Most lost some levels and were made weaker to be a more appropriate challenge for the expected party level.
-- Modified the levels at which characters earn Skill Credits to purchase new skills. Characters will learn new skills much faster now and be fully-maxed out on Skill Credits by level 75 instead of 150.
-- Hooked up the College Of Enlightenment so that players who make it to this location can complete the M'ystifa quiz and earn special loot for knowing the game world well.
-- Hooked up the Moonlight Casino in Surevale Village so all three of the casino games and the loot prizes for those games are now available.
-- Hooked up the Victory Battlegrounds tournament. It should only be attempted by the most skilled party's...making it to the end of the tournament is not easy!
-- Characters gain TP much faster than before. This will allow for combos to be used in combat much more often.
-- Characters lose SP faster than before. SP was being lost too slowly to be a factor in combat before and it needed tweaking.
-- Implemented Paco Village and Surevale Village and all of the shops, locations and...dungeons that hook up to them.
-- Added over 100 new quests for the level ranges 30-50 and 65-105 (mostly out of Paco Village and Surevale Village).
-- Added over 150 new unique items and over 150 new NPC characters.
-- Upgraded this release to .NET 3.5 and re-wrote the sound system to no longer use a DirectX implementation.
-- Fixed the issues that prevented LOM 2 from running properly on Windows Vista.
-- Re-wrote the code that spawns a web browser to view patch notes or to get the latest build of the software. The implementation was also tested to work on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Let me know if you see any problems.
-- Tweaked some of the creatures in the South Beach zone.
-- Changed a couple of hireling attacks that were causing game crashes in combat.
-- The "Playing In The Dirt" quest has been updated. The odds of finding the soil samples you need is much, much higher now.
-- It was impossible to enter the Cavern Of Darkness in the Haunted Forest. The cave appeared on the auto map but there was no way to enter. This has been fixed.
-- A number of small user interface improvements have been made to tooltips and to allow some information to be read easier.
-- The way the Game Score calculates how many special keys and spell books you have found during your adventure has been modified to keep a more accurate count.
-- A few recipes have been modified, mostly related to things you could make with Bear hides. They were causing the wrong item to be crafted as a result of the recipe. This has been fixed.
-- Made some tweaks to the Imbue process to make it easier to follow.
-- The South Tower has been updated. It was not possible to clean the dirty old mirror with the clean rag the party finds. This mechanic has been fixed and should now be working correctly.
-- Modified some of the script for the Isla Mayor. Previously it was possible for him to get into a branch of conversation he shouldn't have been.
-- Dozens of smaller bugs and typos have been corrected.
Please see the downloads page for LOM 2 for information on how to upgrade to the latest version.
Thanks and let me know if you run into any troubles, have feedback, etc.!
