Back In Business!

Jared @ 1/23/2012 10:43:03 PM

Heyas!

My recent move is complete and I'm back online and back in LOM2 business again! If you have a board message or email waiting I will reply to it within the next 24 hours. Sorry for the delay!

Also...the new jjcwhodat.com website is coming along great! I've streamlined things, added some features and sexified it a little bit. It should be ready to launch sometime in February.

Happy new year to all and all the best in '12!

Jared.

New Blog Launched

Jared @ 1/3/2012 2:49:06 PM

Exactly one year after the launch of Legends of M’ystifa 2 comes my initial entry into the online world of blogging!

I was giddy to snag this domain…it’s so true (maybe not the .me part!) in 2012 – common sense is so scarce you might declare it uncommon. I look forward to expressing opinions, interesting stories and extended commentary on a number of key topics and issues.

My primary goal will be to share technology related information/thoughts/opinions based on my professional experiences and travels on the Internet. This will also be a medium for me to communicate news about my personal projects and the challenges I face/overcome in moving them forward. I have opinions. Yes…I have a plan to revamp the tax system. Also have one to reform the justice system/process, the penal system and much more. So expect some of that too. I’ll also delve into world issues…my thoughts on the wars, the famines, the ruthless dictators and anything else I find sensible to write about.

I'll be sure to post a link here to key blog updates as I make them.

Jared @ 1/3/2012 2:47:48 PM

It's getting close...the patch notes are updated and testing is complete.

There are a handful of bugs left on my list to fix. I will make those changes this week and aim for a release this weekend.

See you in M'ystifa!

LOM2 1.0.9 Almost Ready!

Jared @ 12/6/2011 10:10:39 AM

Heyas!

The next update for LOM2 is almost ready! I am going through some final testing now and things are looking good. This update adds a number of new features - here is the summary:

=======================================

Save your GP and purchase your very own home in M'ystifa! Each of the main villages has a new shop that sells houses and other items needed for your new home. There are numerous types of house styles available with many benefits, such as:

-- Storage! Extra space to store your most valuable items.
-- Gardening! Plant seeds/other items to grow them into new items that cannot be obtained any other way.
-- Trophies! Hang up symbols of your adventure success in celebration.
-- Tradeskills! Work you do at home enjoys an increased chance of success.

Taskmasters have arrived in M'ystifa! This adds 136 new quests to the game world with new rewards and treasure to be found.

Each of these NPC's have a line of tasks for the party to complete and can be found all over the game world. Can you complete them all?

Items in M'ystifa no longer wear down as you use them. Party's change their equipment often enough as they out-level it. If you had the Repair Item skill you will lose it on upgrade and be refunded 4 Skill Credits.

The Beastiary has been added to the game! This new interface, reached from the Game Score screen, displays vital information about all of the different creatures you have killed during your adventures. There are over 1150 of them to be discovered in all!

Harvest is a new ability you can use if you have the Herbology skill. M'ystifa is a large, diverse place and many plants can be converted into ingredients used in over 40 new Gardening tradeskill recipes!

A new tool required for those doing Herbology is the Pruning Tool. You can use it to harvest plants for ingredients while out in the wild. It can be purchased at any village Market.

The hotkey system has been re-written to accomodate the addition of weapon abilities. This will allow for a more seamless user experience with new prompts and notifications to help you get the most out of your party's abilities. As a side effect though, upon upgrade, your hotkeys will be reset to a default state. You will need to re-bind your spells and other skills as desired.

The entire user interface has been given a touch up or tweak...dozens of minor changes. This should help make the interfaces more predictable, easier to read and ultimately, easier to use!

Weapon abilities have been added! The more a character uses a type of weapon, the more proficient they become with it. The maximum level is 10 and as it increases you will learn all-new weapon abilities to use in combat. For example, one of the new weapon abilities for the Bow skill is Draining Shot: Physical attack +7% damage bonus. 10% of damage returned as HP. There are many new weapon abilities to learn! You can monitor your members skills from a new interface reached from the Character screen.

The concept of burden (items had weight, the party had a maximum weight it could carry before penalties were applied) has been completely removed from the game. M'ystifa is the moon!

Artifacts are the latest type of item to be found in the vast world of M'ystifa! Artifacts are extremely rare and it's impossible to not know when you have found one. They are dropped at the end of combat and you have the exact same chances to find a powerful artifact at level 1 as you do level 180. For example, one of the Artifacts to be found are the Master Lockpicks - they allow the party to open any locked chest with no lockpicks or skill check. There are 30 powerful, unique Artifacts to be found!

Set Items have been added to the game world! There are eight unique sets to start with and each has key benefits. Each set has three pieces to it and wearing two of the pieces or the whole set infers extra bonus effects.

=======================================

I expect to release the new update this weekend if all goes well!

See you in M'ystifa!

Jared.
